Saint-Gobain Abrasives was the first to introduce the ultra-thin cutting wheel to industrial markets more than 15 years ago. With a small wheel label and rough cutting surface, Mega-Line provided a benchmark in ultra-thin cutting. Today, Mega-Line is still characterised by its robust and tough behaviour in cutting and grinding operations, offering long life and high metal removal.
In May 2015 Flexovit launched the upgraded ultra-thin 1.0mm cutting wheels are available in 115mm and 125mm. Saint-Gobain Abrasives have enhanced wheel performance by up to 30%, with aggressive, yet clean cut through steel and stainless steel, reduced vibration levels and further extended product life.
New quality standard with old wheel label
To mark the introduction of the wheel upgrade, Flexovit has replaced the existing full wheel label with a small label reminiscent of the original, facilitating free, cool cutting. The new recipe used for 115x1.0mm and 125x1.0mm includes improved grain quality and a high performance bond system, providing both comfort and life.
