Define the material
- Diamond blades can be used for various materials.
- Decide which material is cut most. This is very important for the life and cutting speed of the diamond blade.
- Select the most suitable diamond blade in accordance with the application chart further in this chapter.
- To optimise performance universal diamond blades should be used to cut small quantities of all materials.
Tips
- Read safety instructions first.
- Never use a “wet” diamond blade for dry cutting.
- Check that the machine is operating correctly.
- The following machine faults could affect the lifespan and performance of the diamond blade:
- Worn or damaged bearings
- Worn or damaged spindle
- Loose or damaged drive belts
- Clogged filters
- Damaged or incorrectly sized flanges
- Blocked water jets
- Damaged water pump
- Insufficient or irregular water supply
- Ensure that the material cannot move while it is being cut.
- Fit the blade in accordance with the direction indicated.
- Check that the diamond blade is suitable for the material to be processed.
- Do not exert too much pressure - leave the blade to do the work.
- Check that the machine speed does not exceed the speed indicated on the diamond blade.
- Check that the water supply is evenly distributed to each side of the blade.
- Check that the diamond blade does not vibrate during operation.
- Use diamond blades at the recommended speed.
